BRM Chronographes launches new Corvette collaboration with iconic Grand Sport timepieces

BRM Chronographes and Corvette® have developed a new timepiece in honor of the Grand Sport, one of Chevrolet®'s most valuable vintage cars. The Corvette® Vintage Grand Sport Collection, licensed by General Motors, follows the Corvette® C7.R Racing Collection and a special "100 Wins" watch commemorating the team's 2016 milestone, unveiling the next collaboration between BRM and the motorsport icon.

The Grand Sport saga began with a so-called secret project led by famed engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, who created an ultra-lightweight concept to rival the era's racing leaders from GM's main rival. Duntov had originally planned to launch 125 cars, but when plans were abruptly cancelled, only five Grand Sports were produced. However, all "lightweights" were driven by drivers including Roger Penske, AJ Foyt, Jim Hall, Dick Guldstrand and other icons, Thompson's first Grand Sport 004 victory in the Sports Car Club of America August 1963 24 at Watkins Glen.

Due to their rarity and enduring fascination with what might exist, Grand Sports rank among the most coveted Corvettes of all time. Now, BRM's artists and engineers have reimagined that legacy with a collection that pays homage to the car's one-of-a-kind history.

BRM has released two unique bespoke timepieces, the Automatic Chronograph and Automatic models for the Corvette® Vintage Grand Sport Collection. The 46mm watch's case is made from a single piece of aluminum that reflects the car's original chassis, and the strap is made from the Alcantara material that makes up the steering wheel. In addition, the traditional "12" at the top of the dial has been converted to the number "2", underlining the significance of Grand Sport 002 and the car's prominence in the second-generation Corvettes.
